Privacy Policy

GiftHush ("we", "us") operates gifthush.app from the United States. For any privacy question or request, email support@gifthush.app.

Account. When you sign in, our sign-in provider Clerk handles authentication, and we keep a copy of your name, email address and profile photo URL.

Content you create. Your wishlists, items (including any links, notes and prices you add), groups, group memberships and claims, stored in our database hosted on Cloudflare.

Usage. We remember which shared lists you've opened so your dashboard can show "Shared with me". Our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and request details) for security and debugging.

We store only what the product needs to work.

To run GiftHush: show your lists to the people you share them with, coordinate claims without spoiling surprises, and send you the emails described below. We don't use your data for advertising or profiling, and we don't sell it.

We send service emails only: a notice when an item you've claimed is edited or removed, and reminders ahead of a list's event date. These are sent through Resend, our email delivery provider. We don't send marketing email. You can turn event reminders off any time under Emails in your profile settings.

Lists are private by default and visible only to people who have the share link or belong to a group the list is shared with. Claim activity is intentionally hidden: list owners never see claim status, and other viewers never see who claimed an item.

We use cookies for signing you in (Clerk) and for remembering your theme preference. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on gifthush.app.

Outbound links to stores may be affiliate links, meaning GiftHush can earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, GiftHush earns from qualifying purchases. Some non-Amazon links are routed through Skimlinks, an affiliate network that receives standard click data (such as your IP address and the destination link) to attribute purchases. See Skimlinks' privacy policy for details.

We share data with the providers that run the service, only as needed to run it: Clerk (sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting and database), Resend (email delivery) and Skimlinks (affiliate links, only when you click an outbound link). These providers process data in the United States. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your lists with anyone you haven't shared them with.

We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to. Deleting a list deletes its items and claims; deleting your account deletes everything tied to it. Technical logs are retained briefly by our hosting provider and then discarded.

You can access and edit your lists, items and groups in the app, and manage your account details through your profile. To request a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything tied to it, email support@gifthush.app — we'll act on requests within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your data, such as access, correction, deletion and portability under US state privacy laws, or the rights in the GDPR/UK GDPR if you're in the EU, EEA or UK (including the right to complain to your local supervisory authority). Email us to exercise any of them.

GiftHush is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and its "last updated" date, and for significant changes we'll notify signed-in users in the app or by email.
